Child Support is the court ordered payment of money for the support of a minor child. The Court is REQUIRED to set a child support amount in every case. The Child Support Obligation consists of the following: base support, medical support, and child care. A formula is used in setting the amount. The formula consists of income for both parents, the number of children, number of overnights, cost of health insurance(premiums), and mandatory deductions from payroll.
